Hi from H.Y. I am now in Asia Plateau, India. I arrived on the 7th May with Nana and Joyce, and later on there are another 7 people arrived. Totally we are 10 and we are here as a small group from Chinese in Action program. We are doing our outreach in India for a month.
A little bit update before I arrive in India. I was back from India to Taiwan on 1st March. At the same day my parents went to China for Chinese in Action, and since then I haven’t see them face to face. Thank you to all the teleology for us to keep in touch. After went back to Taiwan I was back to the busy life with my students, I did one to one talk with them. Within 4 days I talked to 10 of them and each of them at least 1 hour, plus arranged two sharing meeting for the four students who went to India with me on Feb and Nana, who had finish her internship in AP. On 9th March Nana and I went to Japan to help with the Sep youth camp. Thank you for the Japanese friends looking after us. It was nice to catch up with different people and visited different places.
Back to Taiwan on the 18th March and stay till the 7th May. Life was occupied with training the students, EQ office administration work, Dao Dao (my niece), and dance practicing. End of April, APRG (Asia Pacific Region Gathering) held in Taiwan. Even I was not fully participated but still happy to meet so many friends and busy having time with them, take them around seeing Tainan.
So now Chinese in Action (CinA) is in India, 10 of us, four from China, five from Taiwan and one from Malaysia. This is CinA first time trying to do service in a non-Chinese community. We are here to give our head, our hand, and our heart. The first thing we did was supported the Family Conference in AP. Amazingly to see how three groups (CinA, AP interns, coordinators from Mumbai) work together without much time for team building.
We also had time to meet with the seniors in AP. At the beginning I thought we can hear more from the seniors about their stories and experiences, but later on I can see they were also very much interested in us, they wanted to hear from us more. Through the family conference we had a chance to get to know the interns. And there is another group in AP at the moment, they are the IFL (Initiatives of Change for Life). We also had a time to hear from them and had interaction. Grampari is another super place to visit. They are part of IofC in India and focus on rural service. It was interested to know how they helped the village in different ways.
It was nice to be back. This is my first time to come to India in the summer time. Another new experience.
