Happy
New Year! Bye to year 2014
5 things I appreciate in 2014
NO.1 Thanks to my dad and my mum allow me continuing to stay at
home.
NO.2
Thanks to some elders who support my cost of living.
Since 2009 I came to work in EQ office as a full time volunteer
without getting pay, later on I became the general secretary of EQ office,
still as a full time volunteer. My life was busy with a lot of things and activities
but hardly earn money. Thanks to my parents still let me stay at home and
support what I want to do. Thanks to some elders who support me on my work as
well as finical support my basic daily life. (Each month there are around 8
elders donating small amount of money for me for a year to support my cost of
living).
NO.3 Thanks to those who work with me in the EQ office, especially
my two secretaries.
EQ
office this year was the same full of different small and big activities. I
know I am not a person easy to work with because I have my standards in doing
things. Thanks to the trainers, volunteers, and the two secretaries. Thanks to
your cooperation and tolerance.
NO.4 Thanks
to God’s guidance and taking care of me.
I
still keep my Quiet Time most of the morning before my day started. It was nice
to have time with myself in silence and searching for guidance.
NO.5 Thanks to myself. Work hard and play hard.
4 things which I impressed
in 2014
NO.1 July
went to UK meeting friends and to be a tourist.
During
summer vacation I accompany two of my volunteers to Caux. They were there for
the internship program. Later on I went to UK, mostly London for another week. Last
time in London was when I was five years old.
It was nice to catch up with friends. One thing I enjoy the most
was watching different performances. There was once I went to see “Les
Miserables”. As soon as the music started I already felt it was worth to be
there.
NO.2
September went to India for an Indian wedding.
After five year, I went back to India, not for IofC program, but
for an Indian wedding. All the memories about India went back as the time I
arrived in the airport. Enjoy seeing the streets, enjoy seeing the people, but
not enjoy with the spicy food. It was nice to see some old faces as well as
getting to know new friends. I am sure I will be back to India because this
time I still didn’t visit Taj Mahal.
NO.3 November, Shenzhen, China. A group of “Life
Worker” sat down together to share and to think about our work.
Working
for life, means we willing to surrender to God and let God guide us, what we do
is not for our personal accomplishment or making money. We work with people,
through daily life we learn and experience what is the meaning of life. And
through our life we try to influence the people around us in order to make a
different for a better world.
After
two times “Chinese in Action” program, now we have a young Chinese couple and a
lady working full time in China. They just started their work and trying to set
up a team to work together. Akasha community which lead by Nandor and Weny in
Malaysia, and EQ office in Taiwan. 11 of us met together in ShenZhen, a city
close to Hong Kong, to share about the difficult we face while working with our
team and looking for a bigger picture for our future work.
NO.4 December, went to Ludou Island (east part of Taiwan), and get seasick
Usually people go to Ludou during summer because it is a place
famous for playing water. One of my friends he grows flowers up in the mountain
and was busy during summer time, in order to coordinate with his time so we
went to Ludou in winter.
Most of the journey was fun but not with the seasick. At the beginning
I was fine but after I heard the throw up sound came from my front, back and
two sides, I also felt seasick.
3 Main things I was doing in 2014
NO.1
General Secretary in EQ office
It is going to be my fourth year on this position. At first I
was nervous and worry that I can’t take the responsibilities. And now I am
getting used to operate the office and the works. The biggest challenge I found
was to work with different people, how to coordinate, compromise, and negotiate.
NO.2
Ballet practice, and Yoga
Dancing
once was part of my life and I enjoy it a lot. After working with EQ office I
still try to keep once a week for dance practice. During the class I can stop
my mind being busy thinking on different things.
NO.3
Accompany young people’s life in grow
Through training university students and Senior High School
students, this year I accompany around 20 young people’s life. It was a long
journey for them to get to know themselves. But slowly can see them start to
speak out their thoughts, trying to communicate with parents, and searching for
their future. Nice to see them grow.
2 new interests in 2014
NO.1
visit special brunch restaurant in Tainan
My
aunty used to say it is waste to take me to eat expensive food, because in my
mouth I couldn’t tell the difference. But I still enjoy eating. Miao Miao, she
is my secretary, my close friend, and my eating partner. She enjoys looking for
different special restaurant and we will go together. Thanks to her I had been
visit a lot of nice place in my hometown.
NO.2
Zentangle Art
Because
of learning dance, I hardly had art class when I was study. I always admire
those who know how to draw, I think they are so cool. There was a short period
of time I enjoy drawing through painting the wall. I don’t need to think what I
want to draw, I just need to make all the wall in same color. So I repainted my
room, and I repainted my brother’s room as a wedding gift for him. I even
painted three room doors into orange and been force by my mum to repainted
again back to white.
Thanks
to Miao Miao again, this few month I start to do Zentangle Art. Using simple pattern,
and repeat it. While I was doing it my mind also can be blank for some times. I
enjoy it.
1 thing I looking forward in 2015
NO.1
I am planning to go outside of Taiwan for at least 6 months
After
AFL4 I made a commitment to work with young people for 5 years. And this year
was the fifth year. Feeling it is time for me to think about my next step,
recharge, and relearn. At the moment I am planning to go travelling around
summer time 2015. Where to go? What to do? No idea yet. I am waiting for more
guidance.
Happy New Year!!
